My First Blog Post

I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for some time, but didn’t know where to start.  I met for coffee with my new friend Joe Moreno today (http://bio.joemoreno.com/).  He passed on some advice given to him, which is to use a blog to narrate my work.  I already created a WordPress version of my portfolio.  I simply had to Google how to add a blog page — a few clicks later, and here I am!

I just finished the UCSD Coding Bootcamp where I learned Fullstack Javascript programming.  Just as getting my MBA (or Masters of International Business Studies in my case) didn’t make me an expert in all areas of business, the Bootcamp hasn’t made me an expert Javascript Developer.  I have a good base of knowledge and was exposed to a lot of different technologies — from HTML, CSS and basic Javascript, to databases, Node, Express servers, React, etc.   But the journey is just beginning.  I have a lot to learn and I really enjoy working with Javascript and web technologies.

I’m currently looking for a junior web developer position to put my new skills to work.  I intend to use this blog to talk about my job search and the things I am learning as well as the interesting people I meet along the way.
